So who is Cycled Up Creations?
My name is Kevin, and I’m the creator of Cycled up Creations.
I grew up with a dream of becoming a professional motorcycle racer: no doubt influenced by my motorcycle mad father, a highly competent engineer who loved nothing more than spending untold hours in his garage repairing anything mechanical, or coming up with ‘one off’ engineering solutions to technical issues, more often than not for the bike that I was racing at the time.
Little did I know, but spending countless cold, damp and uncomfortable hours in Dad’s garage, watching him piece something back together again has obviously had an influence on me, as some 50 years later I find myself spending countless hours in my own workshop, coming up with new and creative ideas for innovative but functional lamp lights: the only difference is that I can turn my mobile heater on if I feel a chill coming on!
At the end of 2016 I had some old bicycle parts that were destined for the tip, and as a fun project I decided to ‘recycle’ some of the items and turn them in to a table lamp. I happened to show my lamp to a long time friend of the family, who’s immediate reaction was to say: ‘make me one for my son’!
And that, quite simply, is how it all started.
